The International Relations Organization is a 501(c)3 student contracted independent organization as the University of Virginia. IRO is dedicated to spreading awareness of international affairs at the university and around Charlottesville. With the support of 100 members, IRO hosts weekly programs, organizes three annual conferences, publishes a journal of undergraduate research each semester, and send university students to compete in Model United Nations competitions across the country. More than just a Model UN club, IRO collaborate frequently with other organizations, departments, and schools to foster interest in and debate on issues of international importance and to ensure that the university remains an active center in the study of global politics.
